really good that they've finally announced the price and Japanese release date, just wanted to point out though, that even though $250US converts to AUD$330, realistically, there's practically no chance of the Wii releasing for that price here, not to burst bubbles or any such. I just thought I'd bring it to everyone's attention - judging by prior knowledge from gamecube's release - it was $200US when it launched and retailed for $350AUD here, right? I think it's likely to assume the Wii will be between $400 and $450 here, hopefully $400, though. Anything less would be awesome, but probably unlikely.

Also, games here are always way more expensive than they are in America, I wouldn't be surprised if they're $100 each. Don't let me get anyone down or anything, we'll have to wait and see, really. I'm still going to buy one though... If I can avoid spending my money, that is :P And if Wii Sports comes bundled over here, that will rock my block. How long's it been since games shipped with consoles? Quite a while, by my recollection...

At least if the Wii doesn't win me over at launch, it will drag down the price of the 360! :D

Dave GCN launched here for $330, the Wii will launch in Australia for a price of $349 - $399, maybe $329 but unlikely, especially with the Wii Sports pack in. It shouldnt be over $400 though, though you never know until its official.

woah, it was too, sorry about that, in that case >$400 Wii launch looks good, I still don't want to get my hopes up too high, I'm personally going to expect it to be $400 and then if it's cheaper, I'll be pleasantly surprised. I foresee a ridiculously large amount of units being shifted when it's launched, especially if Wii Sports is bundled with it... Now all I have to do is not spend money 'til it comes out... And wait for a release date for Aus...
