IGN have posted up several gameplay videos along with a detailed video interview with executive producer Mike Verdu. I can't really think of any to say at the moment but yeah, its exciting. Good to see they managed to hire Joseph Kucan to play Kane again as well.

Kane is so badass, movie worthy imo. I loved generals, I havent played any of them since but i adore the series i just hope my PC can run this one

the new issue of PCPP (out soon) has a cover story of C&C 3, which looks awesome. i hope it lives up to the C&C name.

generals was good, can this do better?

How do I defend myself against a large group of mammoth tanks with the GDI? Zone troopers?

Ninja Catfish - April 8, 2007 01:32 PM (GMT)
So am I the only one who has actually picked this game up?

I have copy number 7430 of 8100 Kane Editions.

thebigm - April 9, 2007 06:47 AM (GMT)
Got a few friends who've been raving on about the game, so I'll look forward to picking up the game in the near future to play through.

Ninja Catfish - April 9, 2007 11:33 AM (GMT)
I'm raving.
Although online I think has some issues with it being a bit much of a tank rushing game at the moment.
Games are over too quickly and there's no chance to use high tier commando style units to infiltrate like I did in so many Generals matches.

But then again, Generals was the same in the beginning.

Robert - April 10, 2007 07:33 AM (GMT)
Why does everyone always leave right before they lose in multiplayer? I've even had my teammate attack me.

Ninja Catfish - April 10, 2007 02:00 PM (GMT)
People admit defeat and leave rather than watch you decimate them.
You still get the win count so bleh.

But team-mates attacking you... damn those types of people.
Part of the reason 90% of my Generals games were against close friends.
Just none of my friends have PCs powerful enough for CNC3 D:

We all love C&C 3 :P All hail Kane!

Ninja Catfish - April 11, 2007 12:03 PM (GMT)
I really need to watch one of those broadcast matches by one of the pros. My game is slightly err.. bad.. as in i keep losing <_<

Sidewinder Oblivion - April 11, 2007 12:04 PM (GMT)
Yeah. Really hard game actually. Even the easy computer on 0 handicap is hard... Then there is the Medium difficulty. WAY to big a step from easy...

Ninja Catfish - April 11, 2007 12:07 PM (GMT)
Also, watching the bonus DVD that came with the Kane Edition showed off some pretty damn cool strategies. None of which I've been able to use.

Sidewinder Oblivion - April 11, 2007 12:07 PM (GMT)
I've not actually had time to watch it. Would you say it's worth the time?

Ninja Catfish - April 11, 2007 12:11 PM (GMT)
The strategy videos certainly, whether you can use them is debatable, but it's got good ideas if you're in certain situations. Also general Multiplayer strategies, and how to use certain units to their best ability etc.
Haven't watched the bloopers/Making of video just yet.

Sidewinder Oblivion - April 11, 2007 12:18 PM (GMT)
Cool. I'll try and find time to watch them soon then, cheers :)

Random Hero - April 11, 2007 01:20 PM (GMT)
Even though this time around, they used actors that are more well-known, I thought the acting was actually pretty poor. When the people are speaking to you, they seem unatural. For example - like they stare at you 100% of them time never looking away at once (People usually don't do that, they tend to look at way at least once or twice). And the director of GDI has this smirk on his face almost all the time ...i wonder what hes so happy about, maybe the fact that the world is in chaos.

Ninja Catfish - April 11, 2007 01:31 PM (GMT)
I think it's greatly cheesy, reminiscent of the old CNC games, cept without the Mufasa/Darth Vader guy as the GDI man.
The acting in CNC was never meant to be good I'd say, a reminder of how it used to be :P

And here we see why i don't like spammers...

Whooaaa. Major Tripods. Base defenses FTW!

Ninja Catfish - April 11, 2007 01:42 PM (GMT)
I *had* base defenses.
The anti-vehicle turrets mainly.
Mostly the first level anti-vehicle turrets, but a few of the higher level ones that I cannot remember the name of.

But yeah, I don't think there would be many base defenses that could defend against *that*.

Sidewinder Oblivion - April 11, 2007 01:57 PM (GMT)
Very true. Do you think your offensive enough? Usually if you want the game to last and sit back (like what I used to do) the enemy just have none of it and come and crush you.

Random Hero - April 11, 2007 02:01 PM (GMT)
Which faction has the best base defense? As far as turrets go. Because honestly, I don't like rushing. It's so freaking pointless. It's not even fun to rush for me.

Ninja Catfish - April 11, 2007 02:02 PM (GMT)
yeah that's true, that game I did expand fairly quickly, taking the EMP base and some defensive towers early, but I mainly sat there making new tech without pumping out endless units.
Maybe I should try a tank spam sometime and see how effective I can make it.

I did manage to defend myself against one of his attacks sending him cowering, but then he retaliated.

Sidewinder Oblivion - April 11, 2007 02:10 PM (GMT)
Yeah. Try attacking him with endless troops. Trust me, usually at the end of the game, you have about 20000 tiberium lol. Don't be scared to use it.

@ Random Hero. Some would argue NOD have the best defense. It doesn't take long to build a turret, and you get three to place around a generator. You can repair all of them too. Quite smart. The bad thing is, if that generator gets destroyed you lose all three turrets. It also costs most energy I believe, compared to other turrets. So it depends really. If you have alot of these NOD turrets, the chances of the generator being destroyed is small. If you are one to build alot of power generators, the chances of 'low power' is small. So NOD FTW! The obelisk of light is the strongest defense also, I may add. Mammoth Tank = 2 hits and it's gone. Imagine 5 of them ;)
