Title: Alleged 'classics' that you hated/found overrated

I know this topic will cause some strife but hey, it's all good.
For me -
Golden Axe - I recall enjoying the arcade version as a kid, but the Genesis version is just slow and has poor hit detection. I can't stomach a lot of it.
Killer Instinct - Easily the most masher-friendly fighting game I've played. It's dial-a-combos make MK3 look technical.
Gunstar Heroes - Good game but not that different or light years ahead of Contra Hard Corps which mostly gets overlooked and even trashed, people only rave about it cause its by Treasure.
I have more, but i'll save 'em for later.

I'd say Donkey Kong. I die quickly and mARIO STAYS IN THE AIR FOR A MINO SECOND, MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO EVADE BARRELS.Woops! caps lock is on and im too lazy to retype. this should take your attention away from the typo.

I had a few replies for this thread actually but then I realised that this in the Retro forum meaning that what I was going to post was irrelevant.
Unfortunately for me I haven't really played that many old classics so I can't really comment. All of the ones that I have played I have enjoyed, so yeah.

DK64 was and still is complete tripe....and i'd have to say rock n roll racing on the snes bad to the bone my ass

I disagree with both games mentioned above. Donkey Kong 64 sucks when compared to say Mario or Banjo, but by itself I thought it was quite an awesome game. I enjoyed it enough to finish it properly, put it that way.

I didn't paticularly like DK64 which has already been mentioned. It wasn't too bad but I think it was overrated and it never come close to the uber-greatness of Donkey Kong Country 1, 2 and 3.

Daytona USA on the Sega Saturn
Absolutely loved the arcade version and I still do but this port was the absolute shit. I remember reading somewhere (think it was Games TM retro section) that a Sega spokesperson said
"The Sega Saturn version will be as good as, if not BETTER than the arcade verson"Arcade version:

Sega Saturn version:

Maybe I overplayed it but DonkeyKong is defiantly the more overrated one that came to mind for me personally.
