Title: Your worst video game moment

Drake - July 11, 2006 03:25 PM (GMT)
many times have i gotten mad when playing super star wars for the super nintendo (yes i still have one of those) . And yeah, i've trown the controller and actully broke it. I had to go buy a new one. It stunk.

i have more, just lemme think

so now lets hear your problems and has your doctor recemended a theripist? :P

we've all had at least one so share as many bad moments as possible :)

DJ-Civic - July 11, 2006 03:49 PM (GMT)
I've had a similar one. Can't remember what I was playing, but I got angry and threw my controller in frustration only to have it hit the subwoofer on one of my speakers, which consequently busted it. It now has sticky tape holding the woofer together. :P

Random Hero - July 12, 2006 07:40 AM (GMT)
just last week....i punched a pillow on my bed really hard because i missed out on a timed lap in PGR3 by 0.03 seconds!!!!

There has been a view moments of frustration, one of which is from any Fire Emblem game, if anyone of your units dies then thats it, they're gone forever, no extra lives, no revives at the end of the mission, nothing. So when one of your best units gets killed by a bullshit move such as a critical hit that has a 3% chance of happening, you get pretty pissed off :P

From there your choices are either to continue the mission and thus continue the whole game without the unit, or restart the whole mission. And no you CANNOT save the game during the mission, you can only temp save if you want to turn the system off, but once you reset you have to start form scratch. So yeah, I've had moments where I lost an hour or more of tactical work because of that, VERY annoying, yet somehow I continue to play the games, since they are so damn good.

So its not so much a "worst videogame moment" more like most frustrating, since the Fire Emblem games rock :D

Stop lying you psycho!!

Here's another for you - and I'm not kidding. I think I was playing that old SNES game, Stunt Race FX, and I could not beat a race so in frustration I BIT into the controller, leaving teeth marks on it! (I thought there was chocolate inside!) :P

Robert - July 12, 2006 03:03 PM (GMT)
Dude you bit your controller! Throwing it is one thing, but eating it?

I have heaps of occassions in which I've boiled over with anger at a game. But my worst video gaming moment ever would be when my little sister deleted my entire xbox hard drive, all my game saves, music everything. She's like 5 and I stepped up to her like I was ready to throw down and called her a bitch, I swear I was seeing red. It could have been alot worse!

Thought of another today, back in the days of final fantasy VIII my mum got really sick of me sitting in front of it for endless hours. anyway she got fed up one day and purposly ran the vacum cleaner under the playstation power cord and lifted it which yanked out the cord.

I had been playing for ages without saving too, definately one of my worst moments ever

_MetalliX_ - July 13, 2006 06:02 AM (GMT)
My first worst moment was back in the Pokemon games, where I forgot to save after a marathon session. That was pretty frustrating.

The other was when my cousin introduced me to StarCraft when I was over once. I played it for the rest of the night, when it was time to go and I stood up and almost vomited due to motion sickness from staring at the screen for so long.

Off the top of my head, probably a while back playing Red Alert 1 on PS1. Had to capture a command center in one of the later allied levels, fought for 2-3 hrs getting to it, only to have my artillery accidently destroy it.

Mission failed.

Robert - July 13, 2006 01:34 PM (GMT)
Oh shit, I so remember captuiring command centres, you have to run a mechanic in once the structures health is in the red right? I always used to use just one gunner troop to ease the health down.

f15active - July 14, 2006 02:16 AM (GMT)
Yeah, got to get it within an inch of its life, intense stuff.

Alot of my more recent worst gaming moments occur playing f1challenge in my league.

Any crash is a bad moment because all your practice for the weekend's race just goes down the drain in the seconds. I happened to run off track at the start of the European Grand Prix, I rejoined and got rear ended, it was my mistake though.

I love how realistic that F1 game you play is. You really have to put in the training and effort to become a good driver. The races are also very unforgiving, just like its real life counter-part.

Another worst video game moment - Halo 2. Mostly my fault due to all the hype I put around it, but the hype wasn't unfounded as the Halo 2 demo they put out made all my dreams come true. Instead they turned the game into a vehicle fest, essentially allowing you to drive through entire levels.

Worst moment in recent memory was getting my ass kicked by Krauser in RE4 on pro about 10.3 billion times. Haven't been that frustrated in a long time.

Then I discovered the knife thing :D

I played through GTA San Andreas on PS2. I was right up to the final mission when a bug totally stuffed me up.

There's a halfway point through the final mission where you are somewhat free to roam a bit. During this phase I decided it was a smart idea to save my game... and as I had to go out, I turned the console off.

Upon trying to reload the saved game, I would get "Load Failed" message. So I have to replay the entire game to see the ending... which I haven't seen yet... and I got GTA:SA the day before it launched...

My ex now has my PS2... and I've only just picked up a copy for my Xbox.

NO ONE TELL ME HOW IT ENDS!

borgster101 - July 14, 2006 07:35 AM (GMT)
Damn Andy, that sucks big time :(

_MetalliX_ - July 14, 2006 07:42 AM (GMT)
He dies!

...nah I've never played it.

Frustrating moments for BF2. Firstly it froze on the Single/multiplayer screen, however this was a fault of my own due to protection software I have installed. Next I went through every possible combination of my email/password to attempt to retrieve my old account, I finally found it, but I can't recall which combination it was.

In other news, my gaming chair arrives Monday!!

I once saved a file in GTA:Vice City at the Icecream warehouse, the one that's renowned on the internet for corrupting save files. Had to start the game all over again after some 40+ hours play!

Drake - July 16, 2006 01:22 PM (GMT)
blasted gta save points i dont think ive come accross anyone that hasnt been affected by these, if rockstar get rid of one glitch in gta 4 they should rid the game of this type of thing!
