Title: The Legend of Zelda: The Hero of Time
Description: Zelda Movie!
borgster101 - April 8, 2006 11:00 AM (GMT)
I don't know if anyone already knew about this, but I sure as hell didn't, anyway I stumbled across
this site and discovered that some dedicated fans are producing a full featured unofficial Zelda movie.
There is a trailer of the movie, and after watching it I was pretty damn impressed :woot: for an amateur film, it looked quite good and seemed to closely follow the Ocarina of Time.
Since this isn't official, I'm not sure what Nintendo would say about this, I would imagine as long as the movie is not for profit then there isn't a problem, but I could be wrong.
Anyway, there's quite a bit of fan made stuff out there, but this Zelda movie looks to be one of the most impressive, it's supposed to run for 2 hours. It'll be interesting if this actually sees the light of day, anyway just thought you guys would like to know.
Edit A few pics.

That actually looks really sweet. Awesome game to base it on too, but an obvious choice.

Wow, that is great. I hope that it is as good as it looks.
Whats more, I hope it is free (a-la Star Wreak).

Well if it isn't free, then I'm pretty sure Nintendo would shut the movie down, hell they probably could even if it was free, although less reason to.

Well I think that Nintendo can ask them to not make it. But they can't stop them from making it if it's a fan thing (from what I know of copyright law). So they can make it, but little more then that.
Which means it is going to be free (paying for it would be because Nintendo made it "offical"). But thats never going to happen, as a "real" Zelda film would either be a Hollywood film, or something that is made by one of the Anime studios that Nintendo own. But I believe they learned their lesson from the Super Mario Movie, so no film.
borgster101 - April 10, 2006 11:40 AM (GMT)
Yeah, so essentially the film cannot be commercial, which means that it would be free to watch, which is great for us, I'd like to watch it purely out of interest. An official Zelda film certainly wont happen any time soon, especially after the awful Mario movie, perhaps even Nintendo will be watching with interest ;).

It was funny, DZ, but I think you went a bit over-board. <_<

it looks like something from the BBC :P should be good... hopefully.
i think it will become one of those things you see on funny junk because people are impersonating there favourite games, like the nerds that did it for CS

I think he meant because the movie is based on the OOT storyline, although from the looks of it, the movie is only 'loosely' based on the game (i.e. Link saves Zelda).
DZ - April 17, 2006 02:11 AM (GMT)
I'd also like to point out that most fans (from the pics we've seen) agree that Link is a boy.
borgster101 - April 17, 2006 02:26 AM (GMT)
 Nice observation, and apparantly he is heterosexual as well (see trailer :P )

OldSkOoL - April 17, 2006 02:54 PM (GMT)
That scared me. I will never look at Link in the same way.
borgster101 - April 17, 2006 10:59 PM (GMT)
Remember it's a fan movie, so therefore it is in no way official, think of it as any other Zelda fan storyline (of which there are a lot of them) but this one is in the film media as opposed to text and pictures.
