Satoru Iwata's keynote entitled "Disrupting Development" occurred early this Friday morning (Australian time), in the keynote Iwata talked about the DS, Brain Training games and WiFi connection, but most importantly, Iwata revealed new Revolution information.

Iwata revealed that Sega and Hudson will offer downloadable access to their classic games via Revolution's Virtual Console. From Sega Rev owners will be able to download a "best of" selection from more than 1,000 Genesis titles, from Hudson downloadable games originally sold for the TurboGrafx console (originally developed by NEC and Hudson).

In regards to innovation for new Revolution games, Iwata said " In a few weeks, you will play and see and understand our philosophy. Videogames are meant to be one thing: fun". An interesting comment here, as a 'few weeks' is before E3, nonetheless it is certain that E3 will provide full playable Revolution software. Iwata also stressed that Nintendo understands the importance of graphics and that games like Mario, Zelda and Metroid will look better than ever, but also suggested that new types of games will also be available.

Finally Iwata announced a new Zelda title for the Nintendo DS, that will feature cel shaded graphics, with maps displayed on the top screen and the bottom screen displaying the action. The touch screen is apparently used to draw things which will transition the bottom screen input to the top.
