Title: The PSP Christmas Buyers Guide
Description: How many of us will recieve a shiny PSP?

JJJames7 - December 5, 2005 05:16 AM (GMT)
I will quite possibly be recieving a PSP at Christmas, so what about you guys? I think most of us are waiting for that PSP + Grand Theft Auto: LCS combo, or perhaps a price drop. Currently I am fantasizing about having one of these babies:

If that brand new Ceramic White PSP isn't the sexiest thing you've ever seen... The only problem? This bitch is $455! That's right, an extra $55 just for an alternate color to the $400 black version. I mean, you could nearly buy a game for the damn thing! I get the feeling that Christmas will present us with a White PSP for $400, and a Black one with a game for the same price...

Hmm, tempting. Who else is thinking of a PSP?

EDIT: Damn, so hooked up on that sexy white PSP that I forgot about games. Here's the games that interest me:

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
Lumines
Burnout Legends

There's a deal going around (I think it was Harvey Norman, or DSE, or another department store, can't remember) where you can buy a black PSP and 2 games for $499, saving $20 each on both PSP games with a selection of four. The 2 I can remember is Ridge Racer and Everybody's Golf.

Still a ripoff though, the white psp is nice but everything's so overpriced. You need at least $1000 to get a PSP, a decent memory card (I'm talking about the 2gig ones here) and a couple of games

You don't NEED a 2 gig card. You can easily use it as it should be used with the provided 32meg card, but I agree it is better with more space for vids and such.

In any case, those 3 games you've picked JJJ are probably my top 3 for the PSP. Other than that, everything else is fairly mediocre.

Meh, approximatly $600 for a PSP and three of it's good games, I think I'll pass.

But would you pay the same for an Xbox 360 or any other console on launch with only the same amount of good games?

JJJames7 - December 8, 2005 07:27 AM (GMT)
In most places now you can get a PSP and one of the release games for $399, the only ones that appeal to me are Ridge Racers and Wipeout Pure. It's an alright deal but there are just too many expensive things that are so essential for the ultimate PSP experience, like accessories, games, UMDs maybe.

Hopefully they have a $450 for PSP + 2 games for Xmas or something.

No, which is why I wont be purchasing the 360 at launch.
