I was just wondering, why don't we have a shoutbox where members can just chat instead of spamming the forums with bs. I think it saves time and could decrease spam in threads.

A shoutbox would be interesting, but its not like there is that much spam here as far as I can see.

Well I suppose the thing would be good for wishing people a happy birthday or similar, but personally I don't think it would be worth the effort. It would get boring, fast.

I think Invisionfree supports shoutboxes. Like here, and an example here.

But it would be cool to have one up the top, horizontal. And without having to write your username/nick everytime once you're logged in. Just a suggestion...

Yeah that would be cool and if anyone said anything inappropriate we wouldn't know who they were so we'd just IP ban them without a warning. :D

I think it's a cool idea and also if it doesn't work it's not much of a problem to get rid of it. I think we should try it out as a test and see how it goes - there doesn't really seem to be much to lose.

I've added a shoutbox, it can be found just under the 'Board Statistics' section of the forum. Please bare in mind, this addition is still in accordance with the Evolution forum rules and guidelines. It can easily be removed.

I can see board statistics but can't see a shoutbox, just text saying who is the newest member and the amount of total posts made etc. Also there is nothing to click :unsure:

You may have something on your computer preventing SayBoxes from being displayed. NIS (Norton Internet Security) blocks SayBoxes by default. To get around this, either add saybox.co.uk to your "allow" list, or disable adblocking completely.

I've been able to access sayboxes on their site (saybox.co.uk) but not on here. Maybe only admin/mods have access on Evo?

I think it should appear no matter where you are on the forum, although I'm not sure if it came up for me in the movie section, but I can see it right now.

I was just trying a few different positions, it is currently just above the 'Return To Forum Index' at the very bottom of the forum. I'm using Opera, mabye that has something to do with it?

And I think Manny and Fretz also use Opera. I'm still not seeing anything... :(

I only see Board Statistics as well, no shoutbox or whatever it is...

I'm using IE and I can't see it.

Seams to only work in Opera, which I've tested, and also tried in FF / IE, they dont work.

I guess you guys will just have to do the intelligent thing and move over to Opera. It's better anyway.
