Not many reviews thus far, but from reading IGNs review it looks like it's 'THE' wrestling game for the GCN there has been some poor games in the past, which was a shame after Revenge/Wrestlemania on N64, but apparantly the first DoR was a great game.

I havent purchased a wrestling game for the GCN yet, mainly because I was disapointed about the loss in quality from the N64 titles, but this one looks to be worthwhile, comes out in October, might purchase, not sure yet.. Anyone played the original and excited about this one?

The first DoR was average but showed promise, DOR2 looks like it's delivering on those promises left by its predecessor and I'll definitely be checking it out upon its release. I'm not expecting it to topple the almighty Smackdown series though.

You know if you liked the N64 wrestling games made by AKI, you should check out Def Jam Vendeta 1. Plays exactly the same.

Yeah I heard that, but wasn't to keen on the hip hop. :P

So I decided to purchase this game on Friday and after it being sold out at two of my local EB's (they only got 4 and 8 copies respectivly) I found it at GameRush :) .

I have to say I'm happy with my purchase, I havent bought a wrestling game on the GCN yet but I had been keeping my eye close to all the releases, none seemed to be as great as the N64 days, I can confirm that DoR2 indeed is very close to the excellent No Mercy and in some instances it's better, the submission system for instance is great and the stamina meter plays well into the strategy.

Also the graphics are amazingly life like :o , it looks next gen quality!! When the camera zooms in on the wrestlers faces during their entrances, it looks fantastic, the developers clearly put a lot of effort to the little details, the only bad thing is that it makes your created wrestler in the story mode look rather fake in comparison. Oh and speaking of the story mode, it's indeed quite interesting and unique, it plays on real wrestling events (i.e. the situation where the title match between HHH and Jericho was undecided, due to a simulataneous pin and tap out, this is in the game I cant remember if it was these wrestlers in the actual show, but I remember a similar event) and relationships and brings with it it's own unique twist, namely a 'stolen' world title  , it's actually been delivered quite well so far and I havent gone through much of it yet.
