Hey I was a little bored so thought people might appreciate these. I make and sell soap... I mean I make and sell footbags and here are some pics of two of my bags that I've made. They're pretty expensive so I don't expect any of you guys to buy them ($40 including postage) but maybe you'll be interested or something :P Sundays when it's raining suck :P

What are they made of? I assume they'd last longer/play better than those woven sacks they have in toy and sport shops?

Bags are made with ultrasuede light ™ which is a very expensive imported material and filled with a combination of plastic and metal pellets. They take me about 3 hours to make and frankly I don't think I could make any more money if more people were interested - as I said I didn't post these to get sales - I have been constantly behind in my orders since I started making bags - I doubt I have the time to make more than what I'm currently making even if every single person in the world wanted to buy one from me (although I guess I could charge more).

They probably don't last as long as crotcheted bags - especially if you treat them in the way I remember treating those bags. They are purely for freestyle footbag and for getting the very best performance from a bag. The difference between a good bag and a bad bag is like running a 100m race in spikes or in gum boots. Personally I think that unless you wanted to seriously take up the sport of freestyle you'd be wasting your money buying one of these bags off me and I doubt I'd sell you one too.

They look good, i understand your point here Beast. I'm not going to tell you "I don't care about footbagging, you're wasting your time", because even though i'm not that interested, i appreciate the sport as i can see it takes a lot of skill and i'm happy for you that you're doing something for the sport and yourself. It's funny - sewing was one of the only subjects I failed at school - wood work or metal work was the other. I actually only failed that because I could never be bothered writing reports - but sewing I didn't even manage to finish the first thing we started for the year and the teacher finished it off for me in the last lesson (some people did it in 2 lessons) - an apron. I think it just goes to show that actually wanting to do something is the most important part in learning anything. I guess that's what footbag in general has taught me - that it doesn't matter how hard something looks - if you really want something then you can achieve it. Mentallity is by far the most important thing for success. Obviously with in reason because you get to a stage in somethings where all the top players really want to win - but the difference between the top people in any field is desire.

I don't mind you hackey sack players, but what I do not like are those fire stick tools. Jump in the air like a dunce and twirl that stick, fine, but don't rabbit on about how you just did a double kick twist, or whatever the fuck you want to call it, when all you did was twist the fire stick whilst standing on one leg. It's not hard to use a fire stick. The fire is the show. Without the fire you're just a tool twirling a stick. Go lead a marching band, is what I say, and shut up.

And to get back on topic slightly... I quite like footbagging (or playing hacky sack which is what we call it - much cooler name) at uni sometimes. Me and my friends used to play it alot when we had long breaks. We can't play it so much due to not having enough time off now.

It is about you showing us two hackey sack balls which you've made (and sell), and me responding that I think they don't look all that good, and then with me offering a solution to the problem of the attractiveness of your balls.

Luckily for me - as I mentioned in the topic - I already have more than enough customers who are really stoked on my bags - so even if I wanted to - I couldn't really sell bags to people on this forum. Actually I was thinking maybe for the next contest I could give one away because I do like this place and I want to encourage people to post here more (and I know how much everybody would want a bag ;) ) - but apart from that I really put priority on people who actually play footbag. I started making bags because there was (and still is) nobody who makes bags in Australia - so if an Aussie footbagger wants a world class bag they have to buy one from the US or Europe that costs over $50 and often customs put a hole in it (making it worthless) to see if there are drugs in it or not.

Anyway I posted these mainly because I was bored and just wanted to generate some conversation - and it worked :)

You should really capture this market, and make a killing... couple o bucks or so.

It's a thread about footbags, but we should actually comment on the footbags, because it's just here to incite discussion. But not discussion about footbags.
