Title: The Office - Yank version
Description: Why it sucks...

Ok, i'm a huge fan of the original office, being introduced to it by a friend. The thing that really grabbed me about the show, was the style it was shot in, and the fact that it was very believable, and quite cringeworthy because of it.

Now, they've decided to remake it, American style, which means all the lines, and none of the comedy. Honestly, I watched it for 10 mins, felt irked and embarrased for the people involved, and turned the damn thing off. The boss (david brent wannabe), is just annoying, and is so overacting that it makes you cringe. When the original David Brent said something, you cringed, but only because it was believable, and you sort of felt sorry for him saying the stupid things he did. The rest of the cast are equally pathetic (Jim and Pam?!), and have none of the chemistry the original lot had.

A disgrace to the cast of the original show, and I feel sorry for those who have watched this, and have not had the pleasure of watching the original which was just so fantastic.

Your thoughts? Because i'm just disgusted.

Absolutely rubbish.

I although there were parts I laughed at, it doesn't hold a candle to the UK original.

By the looks of it, they've gone for the less subtle comedy to grab the americans attention...

Because we know all Americans need their comedy presented in bleedingly obvious fashion. :P

You know ... I'll be the first to admit I don't like either version of the office. I don't like that kind of aquard embarassing but subtle humour, it frustrates me too much.

Here's some random thoughts ~

- That Pam chick was hot.

- Recycled jokes from the original series, but completely lacking the same comedy timing. Just stupid.

- That boss was just far too over the top. Brent was so much more subtle. Some of the jokes could've been funny, if they had've got a better boss.

- They fucked up majorly the Kevin character, too. NOT COOL.

- Brent was an executive producer, which from my understanding means that he isn't actually the proper producer. He also wrote the tele-play, or co-wrote, but that might've just been a legal obligation giving him credit because they used all his old jokes.

Brent is awesome - he gets respect with a good show, and makes millions by selling it to the Americans.

Respect + Money = Awesome

As I have already said on Hyper, I take back my previous comment because after seeing the other five episodes yesterday off a friend, found them to be good for a laugh. Most dislike the pilot because it is so darn similar to the UK one but the rest really branch off and the show finds its own niche.

Shut up DZ.

In the words of that horse from Ren and Stimpy. "No sir, I don't like it". Was so turned off by the pilot, that I refuse to even give it a chance.
