Title: Ways to improve Film/TV/Music...
Description: You can make a difference!

Given all the grievances and constructive criticism aired by members with relation to the forums of late, I thought it might be the right time to create a thread specifically for this board.
I'll admit that lately I haven't really been giving enough attention and contribution to the board and consequently it has lacked a decent amount of regular activity, with some questioning that it should be scrapped altogether. I don't want any opinions on whether it should stay or not, use the forum review in the Feedback section for that, however would appreciate some opinions on how it could be improved and made more exciting and enjoyable.
Cheers.

Well I can't think of anything special that would make this particular section of the forums a better place but there is one thing I would like to see and that is a list of what (main) CDs are being released for the week. Not necessarily a release list that contains dates for CDs up to the month of November, but maybe just a monthly list that gets updated per month. IE, June is here so every CD released in June gets listed.
You could even split it into 4 installments, one per week. That would be a bit easier then.
I don't expect anything though as I know it is hard to keep track of the music industry (moreso than the film or gaming industry) and well there aren't really any decent sites that would help anyway. If it can be done some how though, then that would rock. :)

The key to Film/TV/Music getting more biz is for people to actually post in it. Sounds stupid, but it makes sense. Post even if it's just some bull shit that is sort of on topic. A sense of activity will ensure more people visit Film/TV/Music, and then consequently post.
I post so infrequently in Film/TV/Music because not many of you guys share the same music tastes. I couldn't be buggered making a new thread on some alt/indie act I like, because I know none of you give a shit :D

We could do a screenshot competition perhaps? Or we could have a film quiz or something? Something to offer incentive to come to this part of the forum in the first place. I only post in a few of the threads here because I don't care for a lot of the topics that are made. Just looking down the list at the moment I don't care about The Shield, The Amazing Race, Big Brother or Wrestling.
I just don't watch a lot of TV anymore...

I think another problem with the discussions in this board (or lack thereof) is the fact that our tastes in shows and music and movies are so damn varied that it is quite hard to discuss shows or whatever. Small userbase + really varied interests = not much action in the board.
For example, the Lost thread is going reasonably well and most of you seem to watch the show at least (not sure how many of you like it and how many dislike it). The Desperate Housewives thread and the Las Vegas thread on the other hand went down the shitter pretty quickly. I find both these shows to be brilliant (speaking of Las Vegas, the new season is absolutely kicking arse) and I would love to discuss both, but I only know of one other person who watches Las Vegas and not many of you watch Desperate Housewives so both threads died.
Variety is a good thing, don't get me wrong but I think the fact that between us all the variety is so well... varied it is one of the main reasons why this board isn't as active as it could be.

The upcoming CD release list and film quiz are very good ideas and will be implemented very soon, i.e. once I get these darn Uni assignments done. :P
Keep the suggestions coming guys.
