TF is Xfire? I used to play CS all the time, was in top10 GA Expert Ladder team at one stage, but i haven't played in months now. Kind of over it *shrugs*

Xfire is a program which lets you join servers etc but has Instant messaging to friends so you can talk when they're on etc.

Over CS?

Pretty much, i might get back into it one day..

I got cs-s yesterday (so yes, I really suck!). I'm texta149 (steam and xfire).

Anyway, what's the deal with there being no decent servers at 8 in the morning on a sunday? Surely that's the best time to play (my gf had to work at 9. So the alarm was set for 7 this morning :( ).

I played some 1.6 for the first time in ages today and I forgot how terribly lame it was. Only now do I realise how much better Source is. In 1.6 Terrorist won 1st round and had enough money for AK-47's with the Counter-Terrorists still toting pistols. The following rounds saw the majority of the terrorist team with AWP's (1 shot kill sniper for all those not familiar with CS) and the rate at which you could fire through walls was amazing, I was behind a corner and I died by an AWP shot, the only way this could possible happen is if the bullet went through about 5 metres of concrete. Another time I was shot from behind a corner, the only part exposed of him was his leg, but because of issues with character placement and the first person view, he could see me no problem. Also I may have just been versing a cheat, but he went around spraying an AK and got head shots. I definitely think I'll be sticking to Source from now on. How I managed before is beyond me...

Well you don't know how bad something is until you move onto something else :)

Luckily for me I haven't played much source, but then again I haven't played much CS or FPS shooters in a while.

Most of us evolutions play friends through that.

I've used xFire before, but I had a fair few problems with it and security issues (on the old comp), so I ain't going to bother with it on the new one.

I have CS 1.6 on my old PC but it never worked... one day i'll install it on the laptop I am on now. However I think we are getting broadband within two weeks so I'll be able to play CS in my room. :D
