I don't know if it's the Scan quality or not, but the graphics don't look nearly as good as the PC version.

Looks alright. Doom 3 has shown that Xbox can get pretty decent ports.
~DC - April 11, 2005 12:43 AM (GMT)
I'm soooo hoping for this. :D
borgster101 - April 11, 2005 12:54 AM (GMT)

Yes, Half Life 2 is coming to the Xbox. (Release: Summer in America = Winter in Australia)
The latest American OXM unvieled it. ;)

Are you even sure they are the XBox screens, chances are they just chucked in some PC screens and said they were for XBox to get a scoop.
Never the less I'm sure it will look great on XBox, I still consider it one of those games that just seems natural on the PC but I suppose its a breath of fresh air for all those people who want to experience gaming at its greatest without forking out an arm and a leg to buy a PC that will run it.
~DC - April 11, 2005 09:31 AM (GMT)
This is the definite console game of the year then. It would have to be a very lousy port to stop this from being great.

I was thinking the same considering they look like Half Life 2 on the lowest Res with the lowest Req...

That's the thing though, you don't need a top-end PC to play it, it's got a really scalable engine and can still look good on older hardware.
Still, not everyone has a PC that run 3d games too well, and if they have an Xbox, I can't see why they shouldn't get it.

I guess it's a fair trade off; a Half-Life 2 port for a GTA:SA port. :P

Im kinda thinking why release it on the XBox? Why not package it with Aftermath on the Xenon? :cheese:

I thought that was the plan all along, but apparently not...

Actually I agree the engine is terrific, but the problem lies in loading times, I know f15active for example bought the game which ran reasonably well, but became fed up with the dismal loading times and hasn't touched it in a while. Whereas on my PC the loading times were usually no greater than 10 seconds. Now I presume with specific hardware provided by the XBox, the port will serve for far more streamlined loading times, therefore more appealing.
For f15active's sake, anyone know what the return policy would be on a PC game? Maybe theres time for him yet to return it and get the XBox version. However considering the CD Key is now redundant, I seriously doubt it.

Really? Manny said that it took ages on his PC as well, and he has a beast!
Must be because your PC is for video editing or something. :S
f15active; sit and wait like the rest of us you lazy bastard! :P
Hmm, one plus will be about the authentication, as I seriously doubt they'll have anything like that on the Xbox version.
Sybatical - April 11, 2005 10:55 PM (GMT)
IGN are stating that Painkiller (XB) will be shown at E3 05.
Now the 3 Best PC FPS's (Of 04) will be on XB! :P
kami - April 12, 2005 01:57 AM (GMT)
So I wonder if HL2 will be making an appearance on the other next gen consols as previously stated (or at least from what I remember).
borgster101 - April 12, 2005 02:04 AM (GMT)
Great, I guess we'll see the XB version at E3 :) .

I cant! I usually went and had dinner or had a shower in between loading times.
