Title: Film, TV, Music or Books?
Hello - March 14, 2005 09:58 AM (GMT)
What's your fave form of entertainment, other than vid games?
I'd go for a novel. More indepth than film, as you spend days or even weeks with the characters, rather than an hour or 2. Also, you become completely attached to the thoughts of another person. Cool shit. I like imagining things, whereas most films force feed what you think and see. Music's good, but there's only a few artists who I'm able to listen to over-and-over again, as most songs get dull after a bit. TV can eat my balls.
If a mod could be buggered, I suppose a poll might be in order, but I couldn't be rooted.

Music.
I wouldn't last too long without music. :P

I prefer a really brilliant song, to a good book. But really brilliant songs don't come along all that often.

Film without question. While I throughly enjoy music, watching and analysing films is easy my favourite past time. Books probably round up a distinct third.
Poll added because you were too lazy hello. :P

Music. By far. I hate sitting there watching a film for 2 or so hours. I just don't know why. At home noway, but I guess if I went to the movies, the fact I spent 10 bucks, I'll happily watch it, but I can't actively sit down and watch a film. I just walk away.
I play music all the time and I haven't read a book since Harry Potter 5 so music all the way.

Why are polls felt obligatory purely because They Are There?
But Books and music over film and telly, any time. It's a just-cos, actually.

This was a tough one for me. Over the past few years I haven't had that much time for films or books. The amount of TV I watch and like has also dropped significantly though I still tune into a few of my favourite shows. That leaves music. Something I have gotten into more and more recently. I can listen while doing homework, while in the car, in bed, at the computer and almost anywhere else. Music wins.

Hmmm...which one to vote for... :P
Mykle - March 14, 2005 11:37 AM (GMT)
Tough one, but I've gotta say books. They're the only thing on the list which havent gradually become crapper.
DJ-Civic - March 14, 2005 12:55 PM (GMT)
Film, as it incorporates everthing else in the poll. ;)

Books. Music came close, but books win. I dunno why though. :P
NismoR34 - March 14, 2005 02:53 PM (GMT)
Music for me. Because my taste isn't limited to specific genres only, I think I enjoy music as whole a lot more than any other entertainment medium.
As Cubeoid said, it can be listened to almost anywhere. Most of the time though I listen at the computer, or in bed.
Let's face it too - movies, gaming and television wouldn't be the same without music... :P

They're not obligatory, they just provide a visual counter on what people have decided on.
Why are smart arse remarks obligatory, just because you are here?
In any case, this is a TOUGH decision.
TV is a definate last for me. I could go without watching it.
Film will come 3rd, as films are great, but I get more satisfaction out of reading a book.
Now that leaves books and music, with music coming out on top, purely because it's what I gain more entertainment out of, more often. That, and I love to dance.

I'll probably have to go for music. Films I don't really see that often, ditto with TV and I really should read more often, but don't usually get around to it.
Whereas I listen to music very frequently, especially on the train, and one time I even forgot my earphones which compelled me to go and buy a new pair just so I could listen to music.
And I'm not really all too much of an audio-phille (perhaps more just a song slut :P ). I don't particularly care about the quality of the sound; it's enough if I can hear it.

Except...that they are obligatory, because they're nearly awlays used in asking a question. You don't seem to know why people can't see them as dumb, though. That's cool.
Would peoples' rankings change if one medium suddenly became many times more expensive to produce and consume?
Readman - March 15, 2005 04:50 AM (GMT)
Music - I'm a bit of an opera buff (although I can also see opera on TV ... hmm ...).
I could go without watching TV (except for Conan O'Brien and sports). I could go without most movies. Books would be harder to go without. Music would be the hardest.

I don't see why your going on with this? You don't need to push the envelope just cos you can.

That's what I was thinking, but then I thought, 'Hang on, film doesn't have the same character/plot development as a novel, and soundtracks are usually stuff that you probably wouldn't listen to if it weren't in a film'.
[m]averick - March 15, 2005 06:32 AM (GMT)
I guess as my attention span has shortened, music has become more attractive. I don't have the time to sit there for 2 hours to watch a film, nor sit there for weeks on end reading a book. Whereas music goes for about 7 minutes per song and is convient in that you can listen to it anywhere
jckc - January 25, 2007 03:30 PM (GMT)
It would have to be
1. music
2. film
3. tv
4. books
thore i like them all lol
